How and when will my order be delivered?

We hand-pack and ship all orders within 3 working days, usually on a Monday or Thursday, then it’s 1-2 days from day of dispatch. We use Royal Mail Tracked for smaller parcels and UPS for larger ones and you’ll get an email with tracking details. During busy periods like Christmas, things get a little bit crazier… so please be patient with us then!

My order is a gift, can I add a personal message?

How sweet! Yes, you’ll have the option to add a gift note at checkout and we’ll write it on one of our postcards.

Let’s talk packaging… how is my order packed?

All our boxes are made of recycled cardboard and can be folded down and recycled again. To pad things out, we use either recycled paper or biodegradable pellets - just dissolve the latter in water, voila, no bags of rubbish!

Let’s talk ingredients… any nasties or allergens?

Nope. We don’t add artificial preservatives or flavourings to any of our products. And while many traditional Southeast Asian pastes make use of shrimp paste, we’ve adapted the recipes to be plant-based so everyone can enjoy them, vegan or not. Our coconut milks don’t contain emulsifiers or guar gums - they’re naturally creamy from a high coconut ratio. Everything is naturally free from soy/ gluten/ dairy.

How should I store my rempah and sambals?

Unopened, they’ll be fine on your kitchen shelf in a cool, dry spot. Once opened, refrigerate and use within 2 weeks. They also freeze well if you can’t use it up by then… but you might find our recipe page useful ;)

How much does each jar serve?

Well, it depends what you’re making! With a 180g jar of spice paste, you’ll be able to make enough coconut curries for 4-6 (along with veggies/ protein and rice as a side). Or you can marinate 2kg of meat (with coconut milk or oil stirred in), which feeds 6-8. Or you can add a tablespoon or so to give oomph to a stir-fry, there’s plenty in there for 6 stir-fries. As for the sambal, it depends how much spice you want to dollop and drizzle over your food… Check out our recipe page for ideas.

I’m here from the coconut page! Can I find out more about its ethical sourcing?

It’s important to us that the people we work with have the same values as we do. We chose to work with farms that don’t use monkey labour to harvest their coconuts. The partners we work with have long running programmes providing education and healthcare for the local community. Some examples are: maternity wards for the local hospital in Kuliyapitiya, textbooks and free IT classes for the farmers and workers’ children.

Something’s wrong with my order, what do I do?

We are very sorry when things go wrong and yes, we do want to know straight away so we can sort it out. Get in touch at hi@rempapa.com. Thank you for your patience with us in the meantime.

I’m a shop/ deli, how do I stock Rempapa?

Yay, we are so excited to be on your shelves too! We work with Mahalo as our distributor in the UK, and we’re on Ankorstore and Faire - the latter also ships to the EU/ US. Drop us a note at team@rempapa.com and we’ll point you the right way!
